PASSION. JOY. COMMITMENT.
I Romina Monaco was introduced to the world on July 22, 1991. I was born and raised in Toronto. I come from a family of 5, and my background consists of both Argentinian and Italian. I am currently a student in my first year at Humber College in the massage therapy program. Due to my past injuries I have gained my interest in massage therapy started after getting injured while playing soccer. I have gained a great interest in the human kinetics and holistic rehabilitation.
From the minute I entered this world soccer was introduced to my life. My father played professional back in Argentina, and aspired for his kids to continue his legacy. He has been the biggest inspiration for having the love and passion for the sport. I began to play at the age of three, as the years went by I bounced academy to academy, team to team. By the age of fifteen I got drafted onto a provincial team, soccer then became a way of life. Practicing up to seven times a week all I ever did was play and train. Unfortunately my career ended short when I got injured at the age of 18. It began with a torn ACL and MCL to breaking my kneecap together with a broken ankle, fractured hip and torn meniscus. I am now 21 and still struggling with my injuries. Despite all that has happened to me threw out my career I have managed to stay on my feet, and stand strong. It has now made me the person I am today, “whatever doesn’t kill you will make you stronger.” I still revolve myself around soccer as the passion and love for the game will never fade, I teach an introductory program for toddlers with the city of Toronto and also coach a rep under 12 girls soccer team. I also play once a week in a woman’s recreational league to stay somewhat active.
